2007-2008 COMPETITION HIGHLIGHTS
Cynthia's
Creative Dance Arts (CCDA) dancers entered their second season
as an Elite Dance Company and performed exceptionally well all
competitions attended this season.
The
small group of only 31 dancers showcased their talents at Bedazzled
Dance Champions, Star Catchers and Strive Dance Challenge with
the majority of their routines placing first in their category
and taking home numerous overall highest score awards including
Diamond, Platinum, Ultimate Gold and Dynamic Gold achievements.
The
following highlights only a few of each of the dance group's accomplishments
achieved this season.
2007-2008

Large
Open Routine - Conductor's Catastrophe wins all !!
This
classical and energetic dance routine comprised of 24 dancers
outperformed their competitors and astounded the judges at Star
Catchers, Strive Dance Challenge and Bedazzled Dance Champions
taking home 1st place with a Diamond Award and 1st Overall Highest
score for Extended Line at all three competitions. The dancer's
success didn't stop there however, Conductor's also achieved the
highest mark issued in the entire competition at both Star Catchers
and Strive Dance Challenge, along with earning the Most Entertaining
dance routine of the competition at Bedazzled Dance Champions.
Conductors
Catastrophe's display of exceptional choreography also achieved
three Choreography awards and several adjudicator's choice awards.

The
Mini Group - achieves first place in all routines
CCDA's
Mini group of dancers ages 6-8 yrs, performed exceptionally well
for their first season together. The Mini's placed 1st in every
one of their routines at each competition attended, and took home
several Overall Highest score and special adjudication awards.

The
Pre-Junior Group
This
was the first season dancing together for the Pre-Junior group.
The girl's progress throughout their training excelled so quickly
they were given the opportunity to perform in other routines with
the Juniors and Seniors. The group took home Platinum and Emerald
awards at all three competitions attended, as well as a few Overall
Highest Score placings.

The
Junior Group
CCDA's
Junior group maintained their successful track record at all competitions
this season. Amongst the 17 junior routines, including the soloists,
almost all routines took home first place along with several Overall
Highest score and adjudicators choice awards.
One
routine in particular, Junior tap group "Mr. Pinstripe"
performed exceptionally well at Star Catchers, not only placing
first in their category and earning first Overall Highest Junior
Line, but the dancers also earned the 2nd highest mark achieved
in the entire competition, following Conductor's Catastrophe which
earned the highest achievement award out of 510 entries. Congratulations
to Kayla Johnston who also won the Junior Soloist scholarship
at Star Catchers.

The
Senior Group
 |

CCDA
Seniors outshined on stage this season, taking home numerous
first place and Overall Highest score awards.
To
name a few, Senior tap routine "Distortion" earned
1st place with a Diamond award at Star Catchers and Strive
Dance Challenge and 2nd Overall Highest Senior Group. Their
Lyrical routine "Silence" also achieved Diamond
awards at all three competitions attended, as well as earning
the adjudicator's choice Choreography award.
Congratulations
to Kira who took home a couple of 1st place Diamond awards
with her Solos and won the All Around Dancer scholarship
at Star Catchers
